Sacramento, CA – June 10, 2025 – Sacramento’s Mather Airport (KMHR) welcomes a new aviation services provider with the official opening of Mather Jet Center, an exciting expansion that reinforces the region’s economic and transportation landscape.

Under the ownership of three business aviation veterans, Mather Jet Center is a fixed-base operator (FBO) and fuel provider catering to corporate and general aviation pilots and operators.  Founders include Matt Bosco and Dan Kimmel, owners of Sacramento-based air charter, management and sales company, Axis Jet.  They also own Modesto Jet Center at Modesto City–County Airport (KMOD).  Bosco and Kimmel partnered with Victor Cushing, a 40-plus-year aviation veteran who owns Mather Aviation, a Part 145 maintenance and avionics provider at both KMHR and KMOD.  The launch of Mather Jet Center represents a natural extension of their commitment to the California aviation community.

“Mather Jet Center isn’t just about aviation—it’s about creating opportunities for our community and offering world-class service right here in Sacramento,” said Victor Cushing, co-founder. “Our legacy is one of hard work and dedication to the region, and we’re proud to bring that same spirit to this new venture.”

Housed within the expansive Mather Aviation maintenance building, a 100,000-square-foot hangar originally designed for B-52s during the site’s days as an Air Force base, Mather Jet Center occupies 2,000 square feet of terminal space on the ramp side. The FBO offers a comfortable passenger lobby, pilot lounge, conference room, and convenient onsite car rental services. As the newest addition to the Avfuel-branded dealer network, it provides competitive fuel options and top-tier service for business and private aviation clients.

With Mather Aviation’s robust operations already nearing capacity with based, transient, and maintenance clients, the team anticipates constructing additional hangars to meet growing demand. This investment demonstrates their commitment to long-term growth and continued support for Sacramento’s economic vitality.

“Mather Jet Center marks an exciting chapter for our airport and our community,” said Matt Bosco, co-owner. “As local business owners, we’re invested in making Mather a destination for aviation excellence, and we’re thrilled to offer an alternative fuel provider and a welcoming facility for travelers.”

KMHR’s 11,300-foot main runway makes it an ideal tech stop for aircraft en route to Hawaii and other destinations, and with the opening of Mather Jet Center, Sacramento now offers operators a choice of fuel providers for the first time.

“This partnership marks exciting industry growth, and we look forward to expanding our services within the West Coast market,” said Joel Hirst, Avfuel’s senior vice president of sales. “We greatly appreciate this opportunity to partner with Mather Jet Center and look forward to collaborating with its team to support the needs of the general aviation community.”
